Our Wedding

We met in 2022 at WIRED Church Camp. Molly was 14, Parker was 16, and neither of us had any idea what God had planned. At first, we were just friends. But when WIRED Camp came back around in the summer of 2023, everything changed. That week we got to serve together and somewhere in the middle of all the camp craziness, we realized we liked each other as more than friends. We didn't rush into anything, we just let our friendship grow into something so much more. There was just one problem. Molly lived in Birmingham, and Parker lived three and a half hours away in Dothan. Molly was only 15, so driving to see Parker wasn't even an option. On July 2, 2023, at the start of what would become eight months without seeing each other, Parker told Molly he loved her for the first time. It wasn't something he just said in the moment, he truly meant it, and she held onto those words through the ups and downs of eight months not seeing each other. Molly went through three major surgeries during those eight months, followed with having to relearn how to walk, doing online school, and multiple physical therapy appointments. At the end of her discouraging medical days, Molly would go straight to Parker, telling him exactly how she felt and leaning on him through the phone for comfort. Looking back, it's crazy to think our hardest season started with Parker saying he loved Molly, but those words carried us through every mile that followed. Those eight months weren't easy. We lived on FaceTime calls, good morning and goodnight texts, and conversations that somehow never got old. We learned each other's hearts before we ever got to do normal dating things. Looking back, we wouldn't change those months for anything because they taught us how to communicate, how to trust each other, and how to love each other even when we couldn't be together. One thing we still laugh about is that Parker always said he would never date someone long distance. When Molly found that out, she looked at him and said, "So you think your future wife is living five minutes away from you right now? If so, then why haven't you met her yet?" Turns out God had a different plan than Parker avoiding long distance, Parker thought long and hard on that statement by Molly, and eventually changed his mind! Even after eight months not seeing her, Parker finally realized Molly was worth every mile. Molly never had a problem saying how she felt. She would tell her friends, and even her mom, that Parker was going to be her husband someday... even though her friends had never met him and they weren't even officially 'dating'. At the beginning of 2024, we finally had our first official in person date. Parker somehow convinced his parents to let their 17-year-old son drive three and a half hours to meet a girl they had never met before. That drive became the first of what felt like hundreds, and before long, I-65 and Highway 231 were normal routes to us. 2024 was full of firsts. We met each other's families, spent our first spring break together, had our first summer together, and got to serve another week at WIRED Camp. Between Parker finishing his senior year of high school and Molly being a sophomore in high school, almost every weekend meant someone was making the drive. We quickly became experts at squeezing an entire week's worth of dates into one weekend, making every second count before it was time to say goodbye again. Looking back, we'd drive every mile all over again. That fall, Parker started school and football at Mississippi College, which meant more long distance. Molly made every trip she could to watch football games and spend time together, and before long she knew the campus almost as well as Parker did. Then came one of the biggest surprises. Molly found out she could graduate high school a year early. Not only did that mean starting college sooner, but it also meant we were one year closer to each other. The spring was full of school, work, road trips, and counting down the days until we'd see each other again. Parker got to come to Birmingham for Molly's Sadie Hawkins dance and prom, and those are some of our favorite memories. Something people often don't realize about long distance is that you can't always show up for each other and you constantly miss important events, so Parker being able to attend Molly's dances meant the world to her. As graduation got closer, Molly looked at several colleges, but the Lord kept leading her back to Mississippi College. In the fall of 2025, after what felt like ages of long distance, we finally got to live in the same town. It honestly felt like a dream. Our favorite memories weren't the big ones, they were the everyday ones. Meeting for breakfast before class, eating lunch together, going to the gym, playing pickleball, finding a church together, studying together, or just getting to end the day without another FaceTime goodbye, and truly getting to hug one another. After spending so long wishing for an ordinary day together, we realized those ordinary days were actually our favorite. That semester made us realize something we already knew deep down, we were ready to spend forever together! On January 1, 2026, Parker got down on one knee and asked Molly to marry him. Of course she said yes! The months after that were full of wedding planning, school, work, and soaking up every minute together. Those days showed us how much we love doing life side by side because, at the end of the day, we're best friends. We can enjoy doing absolutely nothing as long as we're together. This summer brought another season of long distance, but thankfully it's the last one. Both being in our hometowns, but still making our weekend trips to see each other! For the fall, we decided to transfer to Troy University–Dothan to finish school after Parker accepted a position as a youth pastor in Dothan. We are so ready to be husband and wife this November and are forever thankful for the Lord's provision in our story along the way, and we can't wait to see where He continues to lead us! Looking back, our story has been full of long drives, FaceTime calls, late-night conversations, countdowns until the next visit, happy reunions, and really hard goodbyes. We wouldn't change any of it. Every mile, every goodbye, every dollar of gas, and every season brought us exactly where we're supposed to be. More than anything, we're thankful that the Lord wrote our story the way He did. We truly are each other's best friend, biggest cheerleader, and favorite person. We can't wait to finally close the distance forever and spend the rest of our lives together.
